Inquiry:  got a call from a collection company aka call center to pay a fine from 1999 in SS Marie ontario? do i have to pay?

Response:  If you have an unpaid fine outstanding to the Court, then it is likely that your driver’s licence may have been suspended.   You should immediately verify with the MTO whether your licence is under suspension for the unpaid fine and if so do not drive until you have resolved the matter and reinstated your driver’s licence.  A charge of DRIVE UNDER SUSPENSION carries a maximum total fine of $6250, a mandatory further 6 months suspension of driver’s licence, and up to six months imprisonment.  You may also wish to contact the court directly to confirm that the fine is yours and make arrangements for its payment.
