Inquiry: I received a speeding ticket going 75 in a 50 zone right by my house. I was starting to slow down as I was about to get ready to turn left. The officer filled out the ticket information but on my Drivers License my name is Amanda Lee Trask. Lee is my middle name. He did not add this on my ticket. Is that in anyway incorrect. I am looking to get the ticket reduced to going 65 in a 50 zone as it will only be 15 over with no points, or have the ticket dropped all together. I have 6 points already so this ticket if found guilty will put me at 9 and my licence could/will be getting suspended which I can’t have happen as I live in Kitchener and drive to Elmira for work. If you guys can help with me with any advice to start and well move forward from there that would be much appreciated.
Response: We can likely get the charge reduced to no demerit points, but will need to review the Prosecutor’s disclosure of evidence for more information. The name issue would almost certainly not be a fatal error, however it is possible that there may be other grounds to defend the charge on. We offer a no-cost initial review of cases via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299 if you would like us to review the matter with you.
