Inquiry: I recieved a ticket for speeding in a 60 zone. The ticketed offence the officer placed the charge at was 70 in a 60. However when i reviewed the ticket, both the date of the offence and the license plate number of the vehicle i was driving are incorrect. Does this nullify the ticket in Court?
Response: The licence plate number would almost certainly be a non-issue. The date may be a problem. While the Speeding charge does not carry any demerit points, it will register as a conviction on your driving history if allowed to stand and depending on your driving history may have an impact on your insurance. A case like the one you describe would be an all-or-nothing case where there charge would either stand as issued or be thrown out complete at the end of the defence process. If you would like to have us contest the charge on your behalf, we offer a no-cost initial review of cases via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299.
