Inquiry: I got a speeding ticket but the officer put my first name as my last name, middle name as my last name and first name as my midle name. Do I still have to pay even though that person is not me?
Response: It is likely that your ticket contains your correct Driver’s Licence number, which can be used as a unique identifier. If you do not respond back to the ticket, you will likely be convicted for having failed to respond to the charge, and failing to pay the fine would then lead to a suspension of your licence. While this error is not likely to be a fatal error for the charge against you, it is something that we do need to be aware of and there may exist more substantial grounds upon which to contest, or reduce, the charge. If you would like to contest the charge, we offer a no-cost initial review of cases via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299.
