Inquiry: I got a parking ticket (in fact, a notice via mail) while I was out of the country and my car was in the repair shop.
What options do I have?
1. Fight the ticket
2. Pay and request a reimbursement from the car dealer?
Response: Parking tickets do not show on the driver’s record, but do need to be paid to avoid a suspension of licence. Parking tickets are issued to the vehicle, not the driver of the vehicle. You may find that discussing the matter with the dealership may be your best resolution. Unfortunately, we do not defend parking ticket’s at court as the cost would generally be greater than the potential benefits.
