Inquiry: I was just pulled over and given a ticket for having expired lic plate stickers. I was suprised and then when i read the ticket i realised that the officer had ran the wrong licence plate. Does this invalidate the ticket?
Response: The Officer may have put the wrong plate number on the ticket, but that does not generally result in a charge being thrown out at Court. Whether or not a grounds to exist to have the charge withdrawn will become evident once we have received disclosure of the officer’s notes. If you have since corrected the issue and have retained proof, the Prosecutor may consent to withdraw the charge. If you would like to persue this matter, our staff may be contacted via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299.
