Response: The first response to dealing with large court fines is to seek legal assistance as soon as possible after you are charged. Knowing what penalties you are facing as well as how they can be reduced or eliminated at the outset is important. However, once the fines have been issued by the court the remaining step would be to apply for an extension of time to pay those fines if you are unable to pay them by their due date.
