Inquiry:  Hello, A couple months ago I was walking my dog through a Toronto Municipal Park at 1 am. A police officer charged me with Being in a Park between 12am and 530am. The Toronto Municipal code for this violation is 608 -9B. on my ticket it says my charge is contrary to code “608-9A”. The wrong code was written down on my ticket, and upon getting my court date in the mail, the code was changed on my paper. Can they do this?

Response:  If the section that you have been charged with does not apply to the details of your offence, then there is a chance that it could be thrown out.  We would need to look into your case in more detail.  If you would like to retain our services in contesting the charge, you may contact us via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299.
