Inquiry: Last night, on my way home after work, a van cut me off on my driving lane, so I had to avoid to pass the van . The policeman with radar had stopped me,and gave me a ticket said I was speeding over 80 km at 70km zone . The fine was $40. But he put on wrong time as 7:50 P.M., actual time was 8:50P.M.on the ticket. The question is if I go to court can I get a drop-off with this mistake; at that time I was driving transit bus.
Response: The time on the ticket would not likely be a fatal error to the Prosecutor’s case. A charge of SPEEDING 80/70 carries no demerit points, but does register on a driving record once convicted. If you would like to speak with one of our staff regarding defending the charge at Court, we can be reached via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299.
