Inquiry:  My speeding ticket was reduced from 38 km/h over to 28 km/h over. do i get the demerit points for the lower speed or the higher. if so how can i try to make it so my insurance company doesnt raise the prices.

Response:  The charge has been reduced from a 4 demerit point offence, to a 3 demerit point offence.  Generally a reduced speeding charge is a more difficult case.  Most speeding charges can either be reduced or be eliminated completely at court.  However, when a speeding charge has already been reduced at roadside they generally become all-or-nothing outcomes at Court.  There is the possibility that we can find grounds to have your charge thrown out at Court, but we would need to review the Prosecutor’s evidence to determine if there is grounds to do so.  If you would like to persue the matter further, you can contact one of our staff via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299 for a no-cost initial consultation on your case.
