Inquiry: Received a parking ticket in Quebec City over Christmas. The officer who wrote the ticket misspelled the licence plate on the vehicle. I am an Ontario resident and the car that I was driving was my neighbours vehicle. Interestingly enough the vehicle (due to the owners illness) was sold back to the local dealer and the plates removed. Based on the above, what do I do….pay the ticket or not.
Response: Unfortunately, we do not deal with parking tickets as the cost to defend them would generally be more than the anticipated benefit. I am unable to provide you with accurate information regarding the consequences of not paying the ticket or how to best defend the charge.
Sincerely,
