Inquiry: Hi, I have a few traffic tickets that need to be paid. I went to the courthouse to pay it off and they closed early and are closed tomorrow on my final due date given after the 15 day grace period. Im willing to pay online right now the day before my due date, will I be charged more fines? Or have a officer come to my door? I dont want any more problems. Thanks.
Response: Generally the court will not convict you until day 45 from your original offence date. You should be fine to attend in person to pay your fines still if you prefer to do so. However, if you do have multiple charges that have been issued to them, you may wish to contest them to avoid problems with the MTO and your insurance. If you would like more information on the penalties associated with your charges and what can likely be done to reduce those penalties, we offer a no-cost initial review of cases via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299.
