Question: driving with no license is it a criminal offence
Answer: “Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence” is issued under the Highway Traffic Act and is not a criminal offence. If your licence is suspended and you are stopped while driving a vehicle, the Police Officer involved may issue a much more severe charge of “Drive Under Suspension” which carries a total maximum fine of $6250 and/or up to 6 months imprisonment, as well as a mandatory 6 month further suspension of your licence.
