Inquiry: Hi there. I recently got a ticket for using my cell phone while stopped at a stop light or rolling towards a stop at a stop light. I can’t remember it’s either or. Anyway I got a ticket for using a handheld device and the officer said he caught everything on camera since he was behind me. However I wasn’t using a cellphone I was going through my wallet. How would this go in court? And would they actually bring the video for this ticket?
Response: I would be surprised if the Officer had video of the incident. If you are willing to testify under oath at Court that you were not holding or using a cellphone, then the charge may be defensible. If you would like to discuss contesting the charge, we offer a no-cost initial review of cases via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299.
